Why Crafters Start Thinking About Fall in the Middle of Summer 🍂
And why, honestly... we kind of have to.
If you've ever stumbled across a wreath maker posting pumpkins in July or noticed your favorite craft store filling the aisles with fall ribbon before you've even finished your summer vacation, you may have found yourself wondering...
"Can't we enjoy summer first?"
I get it.
Every year, the comments start rolling in.
"It's only July!"
"Slow down!"
"I'm not ready for pumpkins yet!"
Meanwhile, every crafter I know is already planning Christmas, ordering ribbon for Halloween, and wondering if they have enough storage bins for another season of supplies.
The truth is...
We're not trying to rush the seasons.
We're simply trying to stay ahead of them.
And after spending years working in the wreath and holiday décor industry, I can promise you—we're not doing it to skip summer.
We're doing it because handmade takes time.
Handmade Doesn't Happen Overnight
One of the biggest misconceptions about the handmade world is that beautiful products magically appear the moment the season changes.
In reality, by the time you're decorating your front porch for fall...
Most makers have already been working on those designs for months.
A single product launch usually looks something like this:

🍂 Sketch designs
🍂 Source supplies
🍂 Order inventory
🍂 Wait (sometimes impatiently) for shipping
🍂 Test products
🍂 Photograph everything
🍂 Edit photos

🍂 Schedule content
🍂 Launch
It's weeks—sometimes months—of work before a single customer ever clicks "Add to Cart."
That's the reality of being a maker.
Creativity Doesn't Follow a Calendar
One of my favorite things about being creative is that inspiration doesn't care what month it is.
Sometimes it shows up in the middle of June.
Sometimes it's a ribbon pattern that instantly screams autumn.
Sometimes it's a funny saying that pops into your head while you're driving.
Sometimes it's a color palette that refuses to leave your mind.
I've learned not to ignore those moments.
Because if I wait until September to start creating for fall, those ideas are often gone—and so is the time needed to bring them to life.
Creativity has never followed a calendar.
It simply asks you to pay attention.
Why I Designed This Year's Fall Crafters Collection

I love making people smile.
Especially crafters.

(We both know it isn't.)

Fall Feels Different
Don't get me wrong...
I love summer.
I love sunshine.
I love decorating my home in bright colors and creating whimsical themes like my Pink Lemonade Summer Tree.
But there is something about the first hints of fall that always feel like coming home.
The mornings feel slower.
The coffee gets warmer.
The craft room somehow gets messier.
The hot glue gun comes back out.
The playlists change.
The pumpkins slowly replace the lemons.
And suddenly every idea feels like it demands to be seen.
For so many of us, fall isn't just another season.
It's when our creativity comes alive again.
Maybe We're Not Rushing the Seasons...
Maybe we're just lucky enough to enjoy them a little longer.
As makers, we get to spend months dreaming about pumpkins before they ever reach the front porch.
We celebrate Christmas while everyone else is carving jack-o'-lanterns.
By the time Valentine's Day rolls around, we're already dreaming about spring florals.
It's one of my favorite parts of this creative life.
Every season gets its moment.
Sometimes... just a little earlier than everyone expects.
And honestly?
I wouldn't trade that for anything.
