At Home With Skye: Pink Lemonade Edition 🍋🩷

The Pink Lemonade Summer Tree That Brightened My Home 🎀🍋

There are two questions I get asked more than almost anything else when someone walks into my home.

The first is usually…

"Do you decorate all of this yourself?"

The second?

"Do you ever take your Christmas tree down?"

The answer to both is yes…and no.

Yes, I decorate it.

And no, it doesn't usually come down.

Instead, it transforms.

Every season gives me a new excuse to create something beautiful, and over the years my Christmas tree has become less of a holiday decoration and more of a creative canvas.

This summer, that canvas turned into something inspired by one of my favorite warm-weather treats.

Pink lemonade.

More Than a Theme

When I started dreaming up this tree, I didn't want it to feel like a Christmas tree wearing summer decorations.

I wanted it to feel like summer itself.

Fresh lemons.

Blooming flowers.

Butterflies dancing through the branches.

Little bees tucked into the greenery.

Soft shades of pink balanced with cheerful yellows and lush greenery.

I wanted it to feel like walking through a whimsical garden with a glass of pink lemonade in your hand.

I Love Decorating With Layers

One of my favorite things about decorating is creating little moments people don't notice right away.

The oversized lemons catch your eye first.

Then you start noticing the butterflies.

The flowers.

The tiny bees hiding throughout the tree.

The berries.

The ribbon.

Every time you look, you discover something new.

That's exactly how I love decorating my home.

Not overly perfect.

Not overly minimal.

Just full of details that make me smile.

Butterflies, Bees & Blooms

One of my favorite parts of this tree has to be the butterflies.

They almost look like they're floating through the branches instead of sitting on them.

The little pink bees add a playful surprise, while the oversized florals soften everything and help blend all of the colors together.

I wanted every section of the tree to feel alive.

Almost like nature had slowly grown around it.

Decorating Beyond the Tree

One thing I always encourage people to do is let their decorating flow throughout the room.

Instead of stopping at the tree, I carried the theme into the rest of my home with coordinating pieces.

A cheerful lemon arrangement.

Matching bows.

Small hanging accents near the windows.

Those little details make the room feel connected instead of feeling like one decorated corner.

Decorating Should Feel Like Joy

I've always believed your home should reflect the things that make you happy.

Not what's trending.

Not what someone else says your house should look like.

Just the things that bring you peace when you walk through the door.

For me, decorating has never been about perfection.

It's about creating comfort.

Some people collect books.

Some people collect records.

I apparently collect seasonal Christmas trees.

And honestly?

I'm perfectly okay with that.

Your Home Should Tell Your Story

I know keeping a Christmas tree up year-round isn't for everyone.

But I hope this inspires you to decorate in a way that feels authentic to you.

If that's a lemon tree in June…

Do it.

If that's pumpkins in August…

Go for it.

If it's bows on every door in your house…

You're talking to the right person.

Your home should tell your story.

Not someone else's.

Until Next Season...

One of my favorite things about decorating this way is knowing that every season brings a new opportunity to create something completely different.

This tree won't stay dressed in pink lemonade forever.

Before long, it'll transform again.

And when it does, I'll be right here sharing every little detail with you.

I can't wait to welcome you back At Home with Skye for the next one.
