30 Things I'm Leaving Behind Before I turn 30

In just a few days, I'll be turning 30. (June 4th! Woohoo Gemini Season! 😘)

If I'm being honest, that number has felt a little strange. Not because I'm afraid of it, but because it feels like a milestone. A chance to pause for a moment and reflect on who I've been, what I've learned, and who I want to become moving forward.

The truth is, my twenties taught me a lot.

They taught me about resilience. Creativity. Starting over. Building things from scratch. Trusting myself. Failing. Growing. Trying again.

And while there are so many things I'm taking with me into this next chapter, there are also a few things I'm choosing to leave behind.

So before I turn 30, here are 30 things I'm letting go of:

1. Comparing my timeline to someone else's.

2. Waiting until everything is perfect before I start.

3. Feeling guilty for resting.

4. Thinking every opportunity is meant for me.

5. Apologizing for taking up space.

6. Overexplaining myself.

7. Believing I have to earn my worth.

8. Chasing validation from people who don't truly see me.

9. Saying yes when I really mean no.

10. Thinking success has to look a certain way.

11. Letting fear make decisions for me.

12. Holding onto friendships that only exist out of history.

13. Feeling behind.

14. Trying to fit into spaces I was never meant for.

15. Shrinking my dreams to make other people comfortable.

16. Assuming everyone has it figured out.

17. Obsessing over every mistake.

18. Waiting for confidence before taking action.

19. Thinking I have to do everything alone.

20. Letting Analytics ruin my day, week, year.

21. Taking every setback personally.

22. Feeling guilty for changing directions.

23. Believing that growth should always be easy.

24. Trying to control every outcome.

25. letting others bad days control how i feel.

26. Ignoring my intuition.

27. Letting perfection steal my creativity.

28. Thinking I need permission to pursue something new.

29. Doubting the things that make me different.

30. Waiting for "someday."

Because someday has a funny way of never arriving.

What I'm Taking Into My 30s

While there are things I'm leaving behind, there are also things I'm carrying forward.

Creativity.

Comfort.

Community.

Curiosity.

The courage to keep building a life that feels aligned with who I am.

I'm taking the lessons from every version of myself that got me here.

The girl who started before she felt ready.

The creator who kept going even when things felt uncertain.

The business owner who figured things out one step at a time.

The woman who learned that growth isn't about becoming someone else β€” it's about becoming more of who you already are.

A Final Thought

If you've been waiting for a sign to start the thing, make the change, try again, or trust yourself a little more...

Maybe this is it.

Not because you have everything figured out.

But because none of us really do.

And maybe that's the beauty of it.

Here's to new chapters, fresh starts, and entering a new decade with a grateful heart.

See you in my thirties! *cue the ugly crying* πŸ₯Ή
